A Certain Woman in Eastern Europe

For more than 10 years, I have had a dream of renovating the basement space of my building.  In those years, I have been able to put in or renew windows and a front door and finally was able to add a bathroom.  Because of the persistence and research of a dear friend's husband we were able to put in a very good heating system where there was none and upgrade the pump(s) for lifting the sewage.  Whew!!  Big progress but not really useable or livable...... And then suddenly, largely because of the God sent missionary catalyst, named Nadia, work has resumed and with a speed, that has taken my breath away!  I believe God's timing is not the same as our's but His ways are perfectly in tune and on time. Because this team came to Hungary....... MJ, Pastor Volodya, Helen, Dean, Nadia, Natasha, Kathy - Team from California who ministered in Ukraine and Hungary doing Post-Abortion healing weekends for men. This connection was made Nadia, MJ, Natasha - Nadia returning to Romania after seeing Natasha & meeting MJ And because God knit the hearts of Nadia & MJ together, MJ opened her door to this wonderful group of young women who had been traveling on mission together for 11 months, 11 countries with "World Racers"  Nadia invited her friends back to Budapest and then shared with MJ about her desire to have a home and cook for people and pray for them and love on them and MJ shared about Certain Women and how Batthyany 18 was always meant to be a ministry house and then Nadia moved in!!!

Traveling this spring took me to San Antonio and New Braunfels, Texas.  I met with and was a speaker for AIM, Texas. It was a "Combining Fires" Conference and I had the privilege of speaking on Pentecost Sunday. I spoke on the wind and the fire of God and was soon after caught up in the wind of change! I was the house guest of John and Karen Dean in San Antonio, here with their daughter, Karen. John is one of the Apostolic heads of AIM and has made many trips to Budapest. This was the first time I got to meet his girls.

After almost 2.5 years of serving as "Chief Elder", trustee and functioning as Pastor of the Church, the Lord made it clear in a "suddenly" that the time of this assignment had come to an end.  It was a bit of a struggle to walk away but God's voice was clear and key people were ready to quickly step up and pick up the slack. It seemed to be one of the smoothest transitions in the history of church changes.  My last Sunday was June 23 and I traveled to the USA for a summer with the family. I saw almost all of my family and so many friends while in New York - it was an exceptional summer. More of that to come. Isa 45: Thus says the Lord to His anointed...To open before him/her the double doors, so that the gates will NOT be shut!! I will go before you!....I will make the crooked places straight, I will break into pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron.  I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may KNOW that I the Lord, Who call you by your NAME, AM the God os Israel. (Isa 45:1-3) That you and I may KNOW the Lord and who He is and His power - double doors are opening before us! That which has been shut/locked and secret is opening to reveal treasure and hidden riches. Can you believe it? Then you can receive it!! Lord, help us believe you for more and more. Give us courage to enter through the doors you open. Amen!!

The team from California and I will be part of 2 weekends of ministry beginning Sat May 4. This is a "first" for Hungary and may be a "first" for Eastern Europe so please keep us in your prayers. Men and Abortion Abortion has left deep and hidden wounds in the hearts of Hungarian men and women who equally suffer the consequences. Men have been overlooked regarding the abortion decision and their need for healing. The regret of abortion haunts men who suffer in silence confused by feelings and pain they are not allowed to express or let surface. In the past 3 years Shout for Life Pregnancy Resource Center we have been focusing on and ministering healing to women who have had past abortions. We did this in various ways from holding healing weekends to weekly P.A.S studies (an 8­week study course) and also many have been healed through personal one­on­one counseling. We had a beautiful time of ministry in Ukraine!! It was also beautiful weather and many streets were lined with Japanese ornamental cherry trees in bloom in gorgeous pink colors! But what most impressed us was the open hearts of the people, the readiness to receive the Truth and oh, how the truth can set free!! It was like picking ripe strawberries - you just got near and the fruit fell into your hand.  On our first night of sharing the trauma of being post abortive, and the shame of keeping that secret, a woman began to tell her story. She had never told anyone before and she became free by the Grace of God!! She went home that night and told her mother and husband they must return with her (as they were both post-abortive) and they did. Both received tremendous healing. To God be the Glory!! Taking the 3.23pm train to Zahony and arriving Csop Ukraine by 9.30 pm. The trip is on a comfortable fast train taking 5 hrs (western Ukraine one hour ahead of Hu). The team has 4 ladies from California, one born in Russia moved to Ukraine at 10 and speaks fluent Russian as she is part of a US Slavic community.  These ladies have many years of experience in establishing, managing and manning pregnancy centers. In addition, they bring testimonies of healing and restoration from Post -Abortion syndrome. We will also be helping to train workers for a new pregnancy center, being established by "Hope & Life Ministry" the first in Transcarpathia area of Ukraine. We would be very grateful for any prayer coverage you could provide especially going through customs in Csop. Mission: Restoring Hope to Hungary and Ukraine   Spring has a last come to Hungary and we are all enjoying a beautiful week of warm sunshine and beautiful blue skies. I am keeping busy with responsibilities for International Church of Budapest, planning for "Arise, Certain Women" meetings and I am gearing up for a very busy time with traveling for this next month.  Next week,  an important and impactful mission trip. "Certain Women" are partnering with "Shout for Life" (Crisis Pregnancy Center, Budapest) "Hope for Life" (Ministry Center, Uzghorod, Ukraine) and a team of women from California to bring the ministry of reconciliation to those hurting following abortion trauma. The first part of our mission will be in Ukraine. We will be holding a meeting for a group of churches in the vicinity of Uzhgorod to speak about the abortion issue and to help encourage a new start-up "Life"center. Because of extreme weather conditions in Hungary and in Ukraine, fellow missionary and dear friend, Tammy Swailes was "stuck" in Budapest for weeks. She should be just about safely home by now. Here we are together at Easter. We had a wonderful Resurrection Day service at the International church of Budapest.  The worship was outstanding, inspirational and the Holy Spirit came! God was so faithful to bring a refreshing Word to us,too.  When service could have been over, people stayed to praise longer which set our feet to dancing! The "meat" of the message: Jesus fully drank the cup of death that we may never have to "taste it"! (John 8, 51; Heb 2.9) "Through His death, He destroyed him who had the power of death (the devil) and RELEASED those who through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (Heb 2.14,15) and (Rev 1. 18) "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. AMEN! ...

Just to let you know that after a wonderful start of the new year, the Lord is encouraging me that it is time to launch out with Certain Women.  I believe that although I have had the ministry name for many years, it is now the time - the kairos time to become more active in this ministry. In 1997, I moved to the mission field of Hungary from Scotland with this Word from the Lord in Luke 5: 4, He said.."Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch."  The part of this scripture that really struck me then was, Launch out into the deep.   Hungary and Budapest in particular was really the deep for me. I didn't know any Hungarians in Budapest, I didn't know the language, or the culture but I did know the voice telling me to go. So in obedience, I launched out into the deep and God was, is and do doubt will continue to be faithful, oh so faithful. It is now almost 16 years later (anniversary in May) and God is encouraging me again with this scripture and...

Apostle John Dean was here in Hungary for the first week of November meeting pastors in Hungary and Croatia, looking for those to work towards "Combining the Fires".  We had some very special meetings in Ujszasz and Budapest before heading to Varazdin, Croatia.    John with Pastor Dominic in front of his church  Traveling with the men folk!  The flag of Croatia  The castle area And the "Fires combined!!" It was extra special for me and Jim Person to be in Varazdin visiting a Pastor with a very successful work in that area because in 2004 God called me to go to pray in this city. I traveled there alone a number of times and then in later years the Person family would come with me.  So exciting to see what God has done and to imagine what He might do!!
