Jackie, Rodica the deputy director of school and MJ These lives, radical for Jesus can change this village MJ and her translator Adina in action Saturday's meeting What a wonderful time in the Lord here in Sofronea and Arad, Romania.  It turns out the invitation to come to the school came from the deputy-director herself.  Rodica, also tutors Jackie's grand daughters. She is a lovely, tall :-) woman and very open to the Lord. She was disappointed the classroom wasn't full so she invited us to come back in May.  We are eager to return. These ladies were so open and interested in all we talked and taught about. I know the seeds sown went into good soil and we are praying for fruit that remains! On Saturday we had a good turnout with new people coming because of the radio spots. We also had women return who have been at every meeting. This was our 6th meeting together. We always have a mix of women (and some men) from different churches and missions and ministr...

Heading into Romania - Thanks for praying!!

A new door has opened for "Women for Women" and "Certain Women" in Arad, Romania.  My friend Jackie lives in a village near Arad and is an amazing missionary while raising her 2 preteen granddaughters.  Well, one of the girls has a tutor who teaches at the village school and she has become very interested in our ladies meetings. Since she has not been able to attend she now has invited us to do a meeting for the village ladies and has arranged for us to use the school after hours. So, I leave tomorrow morning from Budapest by train, Jackie picks me up at 2 and we head to the village to prepare for our meeting at school at 5pm.   Our theme for the weekend is "The Garden of Our Hearts".  We will be having a drawing and are giving out garden themed gifts. In addition, I have packets of flower seeds for every lady.  Please, pray that hearts will be open and seeking. This month we also advertised on the radio. Jackie heard one of the spots and said it was gre...

Return to Romania mid November - the Team

Image
Another Women's meeting in Arad, Romania. The 4th joint meeting this year between Certain Women  and Women for Women. Our special guest speaker was my dear friend Arden Campbell. Arden had been a missionary in Szeged, Hungary for 11 years. Last year she moved back to the USA to become a part of IHOP Kansas City  (International House of Prayer). While still in Szeged Arden and I worked together with others to start an outreach to University students (ICF).  With Arden is Cathy Williamson. She and her family and a Swedish couple have taken over the leadership of ICF. Cathy was our team driver and prayer and ministry helper. This was Arden's first ministry trip back to Hungary. Arden and Cathy Jackie and MJ Arden ministered on Hope in God and the power of Forgiveness and walking that out daily.  One of the key points for all, "Unforgivness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die!" We had almost 60 ladies in attendence and...

Women for Women & Certain Women in Romania

Image
MJ, Jackie and Paulette Fellow missionary Jackie Ramsey and I just had our 3rd ladies meeting in Arad, Romania. In March the Lord encouraged us to "launch out" and begin these meeting. Despite the August date we had more than 40 women attend. This time their were more that 6 churches represented which was very encouraging and we had a number of "prebelievers". The worship group brought a sense of anticipation and expectation and the freshness of the Spirit of God.  The meetings are really a step of faith and even the worshippers are unrehearsed until the day and often are new to worshipping with each other. But what a wonderful unity there was with this group and how the Lord commanded a blessing! (Psa 33) I was the lead off speaker and spoke on the sublect of "Crowns" and how God delights in crowning our year with bounty, blessings and goodness. (Psa 65, 21) and how we must "hold fast" our crown that it will not be taken from us. (Rev 3.1...

Mission to Romania, June 18-21 Part 2, the story

The stated reason for the weekend in Romania was to continue the joint project of "Women for Women" in Arad, Romania with Jackie Ramsey and "Certain Women". We are getting a really good response from the ladies and are very encouraged. We are now planning the 3rd meeting for August 28. This time a visiting missionary gave a powerful testimony and I spoke on leaving the Valley of Achor (troubling) and walking through the door of Hope. We have a guest speaker from the USA next meeting with me doing the testimony slot. It is exciting to see the worship team come together from various churches and the translators gathering. It is really giving women a way to minister and be ministered to. Which was our hope all along, that and bringing an encouraging Word. It turns out God had some other really wonderful purpose in the trip. I usually train in but dear friends, Sandor, Patricia and Bela Varga drove not only me but their long time friends the Toon family into Arad. ...

The Launch of "Women for Women" Romania

Mary Jill (Certain Women) and Jackie R (Romanian Children's Relief) Agi B (Hu)translator Vio, Marte Z (Hu) Saturday's ladies meeting in Arad, Romania was a great success and marked the launching of "Women for Women" a ministry to and for women. Over 50 ladies attended (and 2 men :-). Jackie R was the host for the event and MJ, Agi and Marte came in from Hungary as the guest speakers. This was the first time for Agi and Marte to minister to ladies and they did a great job! Agi spoke of the importance of forgiveness and Marte spoke of the loving heart of Father God. Jackie's co-worker and neighbor Vio, stepped up to translate Hungarian into Romanian for her first time, too. God is stretching us all these days. The meeting brought together women from a number of different churches, ministries and nations.....Romania, Hungary, Scotland, Roma and America. Everyone seemed eager for our next gathering. We were very encouraged by the response. Jackie has been in Ro...

Suddenly, In Romania

Image
My roomate and friend Tammy invited me to travel to Romania with her. Off we went for 3 days of amazing adventures. The Romanian Carpathians are so beautiful. We traveled up and over the mountains through Oradea, to Cluj and then to Gherla where we were both invited to minister on Sunday morning. It was a very international meeting with Romanians, Hungarians, Americans, Swiss and Japanese in the service. The doors swung open wide for both Tammy's wonderful INSTE program and invitations for me to return to hold ladies meetings. God is good!
