Summer fun in USA - visiting with friends!

God was good to allow me to carve out some time to take a road trip to Ohio with my dear friend, Tonya Dunham.  We had an amazing time with each other and with God along the way. When in the hills of PA, Tonya mentioned she was sorry we hadn't washed the windshield. 2 seconds later a large, intense cloudburst and the windows were cleaned! And then the rain stopped! God loves, and listens to Tonya :-). (and you and me).  We also had a lot of laughs, especially when we checked into one hotel, got our keys and drove across the street for a fast food meal before the streets rolled up.  Jump back in car and head to our rooms, park the car, keys in hand walk up to the right numbered door and wondered why the keyes didn't work and why Tonya's room was not across the corridor. I stand by luggage as Tonya runs to front desk .......when she discovers we are at the wrong hotel!!! Well, it was dark out and they were only separated by a drive way. :-) Memories!!!  Next morning, we head out to visit a friend that is especially close to the Dunham's. Marge was their neighbor and family for many years in NY but had moved in with her son a number of years ago. Marge is well settled and doing great. We had a wonderful visit and prayer time with her!

Tonya then dropped me off to visit friends, Pastor Wayne and Sherry Sanders. I enjoyed a couple lovely days of fellowship and meeting their family.  Both their moms live with them. It is a very wonderful set up where all 3 family units have their own special space. Sherry's mom had just turned 90 and recently retired from ....the 3rd time. Wayne's mom is an elegant woman 89 year old and I was privileged to stay in her guest room which was amazingly furnished. I learned a lot from theses ladies.

Pastor Wayne and Sherry & me

The church in Chardon, OH. Pastor Wayne was instrumental
a number of years ago in being an instrument for gathering in unity. When their school was hit with tragedy, the churches were ready to reach out and be there for the community.
Tonya's 4th grandson Levi - somehow he showed up here :-)

Sherry then drove me 2 hrs and we met and had breakfast with longtime friends Molly & Helen Sexton.
Helen and I and Molly met on the banks of the Danube river in 2000 by Divine appointment - 2 days in a row!!! In a city of almost 3 million people!! How does that happen, if not God. Helen was leaving the mission field because she had found no one to help. Boy, did I ever need help!! The next year she returned!!! What a joy, strength and great friend is Helen - to many!! You can see how Budapest is still in her heart. Helen turns 90 in February and she and Molly hope to return to Hungary in the spring.
Tonya and Marlow met Helen in Budapest on a visit and they got to catch up for a few moments when Tonya and her cousin, Rhonda came to pick me up for the trip back to NY.
