Purim fast March 6-8

This a recent newsletter from Missionary friends now living in Kansas City,MO with IHOP, International House of Prayer, Peter, Ginny and Josh have lived in Kiev, Odessa, Israel and now USA. Yesterday, in Washington DC, Prime Minister Netenyahu presented President Obama with an "Esther" Scroll - a decorated scroll that told the Biblical story of Esther. That story will be read all over the world as Purim is celebrated this week. Please consider joining in an "Esther fast" from sundown March 6 to sundown March 7 an interceding for the nation of Israel.

PURIM
The Bible celebration of Purim is coming up on March 8.  It is the remembrance of
Queen Esther and Mordecai and how they offered up themselves and endangered
their lives to save the Jewish race so the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) could be born.
Just at the time that the Jewish people were to be annihilated by the Persian King
(Persia is Iran), the Jews fasted and prayed and Queen Esther took the risk of death
to intervene.  She had favor and the Jews were spared.

Isn't it ironical that even now the Jews again are threatened to be wiped out by the
President of Iran, by nuclear weapons.  Will we be the ones to intercede, to fast and
pray for them?  Whoever blesses the Jews will be blessed and whoever curses them
will be cursed.  But we, who belong to the Lord, are grafted in to their root.  They are
His firstborn, the apple of His eye.

Let's pray for wisdom for Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Knesset, and also for the
President of the US.  That blindness to the situation would fall off and the truth be clear.
For the Gospel to go out with power and anointing all over Israel and they would have
dreams in the night of Yeshua and experience miracles in their personal lives and as a
nation. And  that God would have mercy on the USA in this situation and the coming
elections.  We cannot pray too soon for these things.  Also that the Lord would cause
the Iranians to turn to Him.  Iran has a strong underground church.  We must keep
praying for revival in these (and all) nations and not give up.  God is not willing for any
to perish.

Many Messianic Congregations are having fasting and prayer from March 6 to March 8.
Let's join in whether it's fasting a meal or a day or longer, whether it's a full fast, juice fast
or Daniel fast ... let us be diligent to be found faithful to the Lord at this time.  In the book
of Esther they rejoiced after the great intervention of the Lord and they gave gifts to the
poor. There are poor in Israel (the Russian Jews and holocaust victims), poor in Iran (the
persecuted church) and poor in America.  The Lord cares for the afflicted.
Thank you again for your heart for the Lord and for His kingdom, and for standing with
us.

The turning of a page....

Don't you just love opening a brand new beautiful and colorful notebook, grabbing your favorite pen and deciding what to write on that clean, white page? Or do you hesitate, wondering what if you mess the page up, or your ink runs out or you misspell something or you spill coffee on it???  Sometimes that first word, on the first page is the hardest.  BUT go for it!!! Jump right in! It's a brand new day, a brand new month and time's a wasting!!! I woke up this morning after a great night's sleep, ( which is somewhat rare) Remembered a dream I had (sometimes happens)...in which I Spoke a sentence in Polish and it seemed correct (and short :-) (an absolute first!) I realized then it was August first and I could turn the page on my calendar!! and in that small act of turning a page, I sensed a shift, a much bigger SHIFT. Will you put your shoes in the window sill tonight?

Most Westerners are surprised to learn that in Hungary, Santa Claus is not really a feature of Christmas proper. Althought the red suited one is a familiar figure to Hungarian children, he takes a back seat to the gift bearing Christ child and his angels on Christmas eve. Indeed, old St Nick is relegated to the early part of December, coming around Hungarian houses only on Mikulas eve. Tonight, December 5, Hungarian children place their shoes on the window sill before going to bed. During the night, the kindly old Saint Mikulas fills their shoes with candy. While this sounds familiar, Mikulas differs markedly from his Western counterpart in that he is helped by a dark side-kick, Krampusz. Krampusz is a horned devil who puts a switch into the shoes of naughty children instead of candy! But this seems to be a very rare occurrence.
