My Birthday - July 11 and the tent party,

Image
My birthday was a total blessing starting with the scripture God gave me from "The Message Bible" Psa 2:7,8 - "And today is your birthday. What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? continents as a prize? You can command them all to dance for you!" That morning I spoke at the International Church of Budapest ...and they danced during worship. A first, I think. God is true to His word and I am asking Him for the nations!! Thanks for all the cards, e-cards, e-mails, and face book greetings. Talking to my son and grandchildren was the icing on the cake that day. The photo above is my neighbors delivering a birthday cake, flowers and some beautiful needlework. They don't look happy because they also came to apologize. Their daughter and her cousin (in picture) had gotten permission from me to tent out in my yard the evening before. The 2 girls in one tent became 6 girls in 3 tents - No problem I said - until the boys started hanging over my front fence!! Wh

Busy, hot day in Budapest but...

I got to chill out at the latest "hot spot" with Janna - It was so nice with the air conditioning, good customer service and the great cold drinks. But a bit surreal - we're we in USA or.....Budapest? Ah, Budapest, I could tell because we were able to sit at the table and talk for hours!

You've heard of Wacky Cake but have you tried...

microwave cake? Measure, stir, bake for 3 min and you have a pretty nice chocolate cake! The recipe: Take a good size coffee mug and add 4T flour, 4T sugar, 2T unsweetened cocoa powder (the good kind). Mix the dry ingredients well. Then add to mug: 1 egg, 3 T milk, 2 T veg oil, 3T chocolate chips or broken up chocolate bar, 1/2 tsp Vanilla Mix really, really well and microwave for 3 min on high. It was pretty good, quite rich (will last me 2-3 nights), will add nuts next time and cook for 2.45 as I like it fudgey

#2 May in NY and NH and IHOP

Image
Spent almost a week at the end of my trip in Kansas City with dear missionary friend Arden Campbell. She has been with IHOP (International House of Prayer - 24/7 prayer and worship ministry) for almost a year. The is my 2nd trip there and a new "intersection" in my life. Friends from far and near came to fellowship, pray, worship and catch up with each other. A highlight was being part of the "drive-by prophecy" team. :-) See Arden's blog for more details and photos Wonderful weekend in New Hampshire to minister at a ladies meeting in Alton Bay with the Northshore Christian Fellowship. These Spirited women came serenading me!! with Christmas carols!! As you might guess, we had lots of fun together and more importantly God met with us in a very special way. Thanks for inviting me and blessing me, Tammy. After our meeting I jumped in the car and drove another hour and met up with longtime friend Sandy Berube and the ladies of Grace who were just finishing up the

Judit, Norbie and 8 month old Mark Sandor, Patricia and 8 year old Bela (my Buddy) or is he Sherlock or Jethro? and He promises "never to leave us or forsake us." Heb 13.5 What comfort these scriptures bring to me especially at this point in my life and walk! I have lived away from my natural homeland and family for more than 18 years. Along the way God has been faithful to fill my heart and home with spiritual family. God's intent is that even our daily life be shared and affected by family. I have been blessed with families from the nations touching my life. I am grateful to God for the sons and daughters, sisters and brothers and grandchildren He has surrounded me with. Here is some of the family.

More Ukraine, teams converge

A convergence of teams in the intersection of Uzghorod. Steve and Jeannie Bittner with daughter Hannah and a teacher Barb and a team of 15 from Santiam Christian school in Corvalis, Oregon. Corvalis is a sister city to Uzghorod. The team ministered at a school for handicapped people, a camp for gypsy kids, a home for orphans leaving the orphanage, a summer camp for a church, a Shabbat service, visiting shut ins and Holocaust survivors and many other adventures. Steve and I met a number of years ago and it was great to see him again and meet his lovely wife and daughter. Wow! Could these young ones sing! Very anointed. Here is Laci bacsi, (Uncle Laci) a holocaust survivor who is 92 and speaks 4 languages. The Allies released him from the camps and he translated for the Russians and Nadya who with husband Myron have taken leadership responsibility for "God's Pearl" with Rita now married and living in Israel. Have a "Sparkley" 4th of July

Image
Happy 234th birthday to America, the home of the brave, the land of the free - and may that continue to be true. Fourth of July brings memories of picnics at the K of C Grove with our family and friends of my parents and all of their kids and later at the lakes or my sister's pool where my brother in law decorates everything and everywhere in red, white and blue. It's Mike's favorite holiday. The 4th is always full of fireworks, friends and family and of course food! I remember being a kid and dad bringing us little boxes of "snakes". They looked like little circles of black and when you put them on the sidewalk and lit them they grew and uncoiled like a snake (worm really). I still love sparklers and writing my name in the sky. Here in Hungary our big fireworks event is on August 20 and sparklers are for the Christmas tree! PS. Another special thing about the 4th of July is ....it marks one week until my birthday :-)

The Destination, June 24-28 Ukraine

The wonderful worship team! The purpose of this trip was to be the guest speaker for the Church of the Living God, Mukachevo. I have been visiting this church since 1992 and am close friends with a number of the leadership and have brought greetings at many services but this was the first I have been invited to speak for a ladies meeting. In fact it was the first ladies meeting in a number of years. The meeting was well attended with about 70 ladies. Even 4 friends from Uzghorod attended. The church was encouraged as there were new ladies, too. God was so good and His presence so sweet. He lead me to first share my testimony and then about "Certain Women" the ministry. Then we broke for fellowship, sweets and drinks. When we regrouped I shared from the Word, mainly from Matt 6 - "Don't worry about these things....Seek first the Kingdom of God and ALL these things will be added to you." Pastor Tibi's wife Eve had known I spoke on this subject to the Khust ladi
