Pictures from craft day

Image
Saturday craft days are an honored Alaskan tradition with Kit, Billye and Rebekah . I gladly joined the group as we "felted". It was a very restful, creative, encouraging time. Try it, you will like it!!! Billye usually knits something with 100% wool and then felts it but this project started with colorful packages of "roving". This made it quick and easy. As you will see a good project for any age.

Alaskan Hospitality

Image
Thanks to good and longtime friends, Rhon and Kit Duke , I was able to end my "Summer mission to America" trip in Anchorage. The time was complete with camping, a trip to the Palmer state fair, a family birthday, various food events, a craft day when we "felted" and some great church services!! I was able to spend some hours with my mission facilitator, Maggie and the mission council, too. Also had sweet fellowship with many (but not all :-(, of my special friends in Alaska.

More hospitality

What a delight it was to visit Richard and Carol Maiden in their homes in Scottsdale, AZ and in the mountains of Payson. That was a nice way to cool off!! It was fun to see you both in your "home" element. I have a great photo of you while we were eating "real" Mexican food. Thanks you so much for the lovely guest room, meals, movie and shopping. I enjoyed ministering for your "mountain church" and hat shopping. It was also special to see missionary friend Carol Griffith who was visiting AZ from South Africa. Her friend Arlene and the Maidens and Carol and I had a couple chances to eat and fellowship together. This was my first time in Arizona and the geography was an out of the world experience for me. Then to San Francisco - wow!! I was soooo excited to get there for the end event of the "Summer of God's Love" on August 11 in Golden Gate Park. On the bus ride from the airport to Marin County, I was so touched to "see" God at wo

Hospitality continues

On July 3rd I arrived in Nashville, knowing no one. I called the wrong Marriot hotel shuttle but as it was late, and I had no luggage (no show for 36 hrs!) the kindly driver took pity on me. Thanks Neil for helping me out, returning the next day to bring me your phone and telling me about Net10 phone service. You saved the day! And I continue to pray for you, as you asked. Rebecca Porter, thank you for taking it upon yourself to single handedly find me a place to stay in Nashville. You excelled!! Thank you Karen for bringing me a swimsuit and taking me shopping for essentials until my luggage came. And Kelly, what can I say! It was great to meet you, see you in October! The Iowa delegation/the kidnappers!!! My precious roomate Ann, thank you for that hotel blessing, staying in your home and sharing your new grand son :-). Steve and Luana and Zach , your extended and repeated rich hospitality and that house and that pool :-) and all those other special guests!! (Teddy and Timothy -

Hospitality along the way

How do I thank you all for your wonderful, generous and outstanding hospitality? Let me try by relating some of the highlights from the beginning from mid June.... This was the second annual "heritage tour" for Mary Jill and her son Michael Ackerbauer, his wife, Raelene and the children, Bryce, Mikhaila and Austin. Last year, the trip was to Anchorage, Alaska and this year was to Scotland and Ireland. The Lord willing, next year will be a family vacation in Hungary. To fellow Alaska based missionaries, John and Linda Harrison in Dublin. What a precious 24 hours we had together. I really enjoyed our time. Getting to hear Lance Lambert speak on "Israel and the Church" was such a bonus. Linda, thanks so much for the sweater, I really needed it and sending me off with a gourmet lunch from the "city mission" ....how delicious and how blessed your "congregation". John, thanks for sharing your text messaging package. I just wish I had the directions

Back in my beloved Hungary

Ahhhhh - well rested, caught up on sweet fellowship with roomie and friends and completely unpacked and put away!! A new indoor record :-) BUT PRAY, PLEASE . The cd with 2 months of pictures is missing. It was on my last stop in Alaska so I have hope it is there. Time and Kit will tell.

Precious new friends

A more detailed account of "The Call"

TheCall Nashville On Saturday, July seventh, two-thousand and seven, nearly one hundred thousand people gathered together to worship Jesus and pray for revival and reformation in America. At seven am around ten thousand people gathered at Centennial Park and began to pray. The heavens shook and the atmosphere was set. Seven thirty am, ten thousand silent warriors begin their three mile walk toward Titan Stadium. We walked down Church Street straight through downtown Nashville. In silence, we cried out to God to change the course of our nation and bring a return to our first love, Jesus Christ. As you looked around, you could see mothers, fathers, children and even grandparents walking, asking, seeking revival and reformation. The Lord moved that morning and it was so tangible. As we walked through the streets, people gathered outside of businesses and shops, restaurants and coffee houses to see what ten thousand people were walking in silence for. You could see that people were moved b
