Our wonderful ever watchful God

It is not always easy to plan a day out with 3 busy missionaries but we juggled schedules and checked weather forecasts looking for just the right day and off we went. Did you ever have one of those days where you thought you knew where you were going and what you were doing but found out (again!) that you weren't in charge? So, we packed the coolers, the blankets, the towels, the food, drinks and headed off to Hajduboszormeny, a small town close to Debrecen with lovely thermal baths and strand (outside pools). It has been in the 80's for a couple weeks so no thermals for us - no sirree - outside pools for us! We brought the number 30 sun creme. Sadly, the outside pool is not open yet! We dragged everything back into the car and headed to town center where we eased our disappointment with fresh strawberries, a great shoe store and a refreshing ice cream cone! - Now what! Let's head the other direction out of town to Hajduszobaszlo to the really big swimming complex. Happily we set off and were delighted to find all the pools open, including the 5 outside pools. We even found space on the grass, under the trees for all our stuff and had the wave pool to ourselves! Why? Because the locals prefer hot thermal water to the cold refreshing water in the wave pool but be careful for every hour on the hour you could be trampled with people coming in for the waves! Anyway, we had a great time and headed back to the car only to find....I can't find the keys to the car! Not on the ground, not in the bags, not in the cooler oops must be in the trunk!! Of course, the extra set is home in Debrecen, we are now a looooong bus ride away. What to do, what to do. The parking lot is almost empty, the porter/guard is gone and not a policeman in sight. Suddenly, a thought comes to me "God is good". Right God, help me to see your goodness here and now, soon?! There is a car next to us and as the couple in it start backing out Syble says, lets ask them for a ride home! We use our best Hungarian and a fair amount of pantomine and although grumpy, the husband gets out, opens the trunk and starts look for tools, instruments, anything to try to unlock the car. It has been so hot that we had left the back windows down a bit so we go to work.. Edith pacing and interceding (and taking photos it turns out), Syble and I helping to pull the window as far down as possible and also calling on Jesus and angels to help us. This man becomes determined to succeed, and finally after tying a string to a wire he somehow manages to get the wire around the lock firmly enough to lift it and pop it open!! Wow!! God you are so good! This man just radiates with joy as we all hug him and clap him on the back with thanks. His wife is standing there amazed and as I look at her, I see - This is why, she is why we are here! "Are you sick?" Yes, a little. Well, we believe Jesus can heal you and we lay hands on her and we pray for her in Jesus' mighty name and she "receives" with faith. God, you are so good, you knew we needed to be here today for this precious couple. They are going home different than when they arrived! He has rescued us, she (and we) admire him and are amazed and you, dear Lord are glorified! What great plans you have for us, what adventures, every twist and turn in our path an opportunity to see you at work! How good you are - All the time!!
