Hospitality along the way

How do I thank you all for your wonderful, generous and outstanding hospitality? Let me try by relating some of the highlights from the beginning from mid June....

This was the second annual "heritage tour" for Mary Jill and her son Michael Ackerbauer, his wife, Raelene and the children, Bryce, Mikhaila and Austin. Last year, the trip was to Anchorage, Alaska and this year was to Scotland and Ireland. The Lord willing, next year will be a family vacation in Hungary.

To fellow Alaska based missionaries, John and Linda Harrison in Dublin. What a precious 24 hours we had together. I really enjoyed our time. Getting to hear Lance Lambert speak on "Israel and the Church" was such a bonus. Linda, thanks so much for the sweater, I really needed it and sending me off with a gourmet lunch from the "city mission" ....how delicious and how blessed your "congregation". John, thanks for sharing your text messaging package. I just wish I had the directions and the computer together at the same time :-(.

To Beth and LaVere Soper in Motherwell, Scotland. Thank you so much for your royal hospitality. At last we could gather our children and grandchildren together - the blondes and the brunettes! And what a beautiful setting is your home and your adopted homeland. You made the house so "grandkid" friendly complete with the trampoline! How good God is to let us introduce our children to those people and places that are important to us. Beth, you were such a great tour guide, cook and entertainer. Wait until I get you here! :-)

Thanks to Len and Amber Northfield and Peter and Beth Sciallo for Saturday on the farm. It was really - kid heaven. And the adults had a great time, too. Let's see, Michael and Raelene and our 3, Amber's 4, Beth's 5, Alan & Duska and there 2..... see why it was kid heaven. Will the sheep ever be the same after the kids "herding" them? and the garden - are the rocks still balanced? It was so good to have Big Jack and Ellen McKee, too. They were happy to practice being "grands" for their upcoming event.

Alan and Margot and Sarah Ross, it was so good to have Starbucks and dinner with you. I loved how the "big kids" still loved the "little kids" toys.

and who could forget meeting the 21st century "Braveheart" in Edinburgh.

And then we were off to Ireland to stay with Barry and Annette Ashworth and their 3 children. We needed to fly to do it but we got to spend quality time with all 9 Soper grands. We had a wonderful time in Dundalk and the children really connected. There were horse adventures and hamster adventures and lots of laughs and special outings. Special thanks too, to Pastor Hassen & Lucy Boyle for lunch, breakfast and a blessed time with the church. Thank you for your sensitivity to the Lord and your generosity.

The icing on the cake was the time with the Tom and Maria Cooney family in Galway. What a beautiful home, great family and sweet grands. Looking forward to your next trip to Hungary.
Keep praying for the cd of pictures to be found so I can show you highlights of June in Scotland and Ireland.
