More on IHOP
Spending time here at IHOP is like soaking in the spiritual jacuzzi of God. (Arden's phrase). The IHOP prayer room is a beehive of activity 24 hours a day. The weekends are so crowded prayer is moved to the church building. Every 2 hours a new set of musicians lead in worship and intercession. Around the main room is a series of smaller rooms - enter one for praying for the government, one for praying for Israel, numerous rooms for healing and a number for prophecy. Show up any time day and night and worship and intercede. Next door is a coffee shop "Higher Grounds" :-) open for extended times. (coffee and food not allowed in prayer room).
Imagine this - it is difficult to find a parking space at the prayer room so they have shuttle buses. On Sunday, there are 3 services (same speaker/message) different worship teams in a larger facility - also with shuttle parking.
I mentioned all the young people, but there are people of all ages and people of all nations here and prayer going on 24/7. It is so inspiring, humbling, awesome, touching, cleansing, refreshing and provoking and convicting and so wonderful!! I am trying to soak in all that God has for me.
Many here are talking about an explosion of people coming in; coming difficulties that will challenge all. Many are preparing storehouses of provision and water, etc - because of ...extremes in weather. Last year Kansas City lost electrical power for 4 days.
Clear sense here of the urgency of the hour, concern for America and the soon and coming return of Jesus and judgement and the need for the fear of the Lord and holiness. IHOP has been known for 24/7 prayer and a call to intimacy with the bridegroom, Jesus but I hear/sense a shift to add to prayer - action. Time with God to receive the burden that is on His heart, an understanding there is a judgement coming and a pressing need to both pray and proclaim the truth of the Gospel while there is time. Hear and obey!
This is the perfect time for me to be here. A time near the end of one season before transitioning to the next. The Lord has been faithful to confirm the new season (and more) and I look forward to 3 more days at IHOP and YES, you need to come check it out. Arden's friend Jill manages a guesthouse so contact one of us.
