Scenes from Szeged

What a great weekend! Ed & Syble drove down to Szeged on Friday with Edith and I and ministered for ICF. It was a beautiful weekend and we had a lively time in worship, thanks Erik! Syble shared some of her testimony with us, and Ed was so good, as always. We had a really special time of prayer first and the Hoy Spirit was present.

In Debrecen on Saturday night, again the presence of God was strong with people responding. On Sunday I was in Budapest for service there and again wonderful worship, teaching and the Holy Spirit's presence. God is on the move in Hungary!!

Chocolate chip cookies

My mom who was a very good cook and baker, was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. Since she can no longer make them I took it upon myself to "try" to perfect the recipe. This is my latest attempt. (Last weeks were enjoyable but not in the running) Two brothers independently rated them at 8.5 out of 10 - 10 of course would be just like moms. This score could even climb to 9 depending on how they taste frozen. Mom often baked at night and would leave "some" out on a plate and the rest hidden in the freezer so they would last longer. Of course we figured that out pretty quickly and now prefer them frozen. You may like yours golden and crispy but there is a secret ingredient in these and a way to bake them that makes them soft and oh so yummy!!

We had a really good night last night - kind of...

My brother Jack and his wife Debby just arrived back from Florida where Jack was trying to hide out from having to face a "big" birthday. So my sister Kathi and I decorated his house to welcome him home - and left him a card that said "You can run, but you can't hide! :-). Some of you know Jack by his more common name "No rules for kids, Uncle Jack". Well, mom really enjoyed visiting with Jack and Debby and as a result she stayed up until 10.30. Most nights she can only sleep for about 5 hours tops and even then gets up a number of times. That means I get up with her :-). Night before last that was at 1.30, 4, 6 and 7!! So when this morning I realised I had been able to sleep through the night I was more concerned than relieved. I checked my monitor and yes it was working and finally turned on the light to check and see if mom was ...alive. Do you remember the first night your baby slept all the way through to morning? The turning of a page....

Don't you just love opening a brand new beautiful and colorful notebook, grabbing your favorite pen and deciding what to write on that clean, white page? Or do you hesitate, wondering what if you mess the page up, or your ink runs out or you misspell something or you spill coffee on it???  Sometimes that first word, on the first page is the hardest.  BUT go for it!!! Jump right in! It's a brand new day, a brand new month and time's a wasting!!! I woke up this morning after a great night's sleep, ( which is somewhat rare) Remembered a dream I had (sometimes happens)...in which I Spoke a sentence in Polish and it seemed correct (and short :-) (an absolute first!) I realized then it was August first and I could turn the page on my calendar!! and in that small act of turning a page, I sensed a shift, a much bigger SHIFT. Suddenly, anything was possible, everything was possible!!! Everything was new,  new mercies, new grace, new favor, a new start, new creative ideas...
