February - The Invitation to the UN

The day after the personal prophesy from Dr Sharon Stone, which said that I was to be a voice for the voiceless and would be an influence at a governmental level, I was invited to a political gathering called: CitizenGo by my friend, Zsuzsa, co-founder of Shout for Life Pregnancy Center.  Seemed amazing that the invitation came a day later. Due to bad weather and sickness, we were unable to go to that meeting BUT 4 days later another call came in from Zsuzsa.
(What is CitizenGO?
CitizenGO is community of active citizens who work together, using online petitions and action alerts as a resource, to defend and promote life, family, and liberty. We work to ensure that those in power respect human dignity and individuals’ rights. ) And Hungary is very unusual in Europe and in the EU because in 2012, our Hungarian constitution was amended to add the following:

1. Hungary is a Christian nation.
2. Human life is to be protected from conception to natural death.
3. Marriage is to be between one man and one woman.

Zsuzsa called me to say she was asked by people from CitizenGo to attend an important UN meeting in March on women's issues. That it was important for Hungarian Pro-Life NGO's to be at this meeting. She asked if I thought she should go. (I have for 10 years or so been an "unofficial" board member, and am usually called upon for International matters) I said,  I thought it was VERY important that she go. She said, really? I said, yes, and she said - Good, can you go with me???  The fresh prophecy immediately came to mind!!  I did some research about this special meeting which is held yearly and discovered that in 2014,  97 nations were represented, but Hungary was missing. Now I really felt that she should go.  Here is what the meeting is: Commission on the status of Women:

In Focus: CSW59

The Issue

The year 2015 marks a significant milestone – the 20th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action – which will be the focus of the 59th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW59).
At the annual high-level gathering, taking place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 9-20 March 2015, global leaders and activists will take stock of progress and remaining challenges for implementing this landmark agreement for gender equality and women's rights. States drafting the Declaration in 1995, identified 12 critical areas of concern, all of which are still relevant challenges today.

Ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action, UN Women launched a global campaign in 2014 titled "Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Picture It", to reignite the urgency behind the Beijing call and galvanize a new generation to address gender equality issues.
In the lead-up to the session, a record-breaking 166 countries have also undertaken national reviews on the status of women, and rich contributors from civil society have been generated. These reviews, coupled with the UN Secretary-General's report on Beijing implementation, will be a central focus of CSW59, where leaders will review progress and formulate concrete recommendations to step up their efforts to ensure gender equality and women's empowerment touches the lives of all women and girls worldwide.
Every year, CSW attracts thousands of NGO members and hundreds of country representatives from around the world to discuss critical issues for women, galvanize attention and spur action. Setting a new record this year, more than 1,100 NGOs and a total of 8,600 representatives have registered to participate. There are thousands of stories to tell. Meet some of the heroes, leaders and protagonists who will be there, and find out what the post-Beijing generation thinks is needed to make the Platform for Action a reality. Picture it!

The next few weeks became very hectic and often comical, trying to work out who could go, who would go and who had official permission and with which NGO.  At on point, I had official permission and the Hungarians did not!!  Within 6 hours that permission got revoked and a person I didn't even know sent my details to another NGO on my behalf!  The week before the meeting began in NYC, 3 Zsuzsa's, an Edit and I, all had official permission to attend meetings, but only Edit had government backing for support and she was only going for the first 3 days of 2 weeks of meetings. One Zsuzsa spoke English, had been to a similar meeting before and was going early for the full amount of time. My friend Zsuzsa was going for 10 days and the 3rd Zsuzsa who did not speak english was wanting to leave after everyone and stay later.  By that time, I had NO PEACE to go to the event. (I also had previously scheduled and paid for air travel for a European trip,  a trip to USA right after the UN and I had a 3 day retreat scheduled for during the 2 weeks and I was the guest speaker). When it came down to it, I could follow prophecy or peace!! I (wisely I believe) followed peace and then could see that because I got involved God used it as a catalyst for my friend Zsuzsa and her NGO to get involved in Pro-life at a much different/higher level AND for the NGO to find out they could apply for a government grant to go not only to the UN but to similar meetings for a year in USA and in Europe. My friends also got to join in a great God adventure of their own.
